Classes at our studio are open to communities near Tujunga-Sunland and anybody who is interested can sign up with a small monthly contributions. Please contact us for details on how you can get started. We can first set up a studio visit for you to observe the rehreasals.
Beginners' Gamelan
Sunday 1:30-3:30pm
Performing Group
Sunday 3:45-6:00pm
Tuesday 6:30-8:30pm
If you decide to study gamelan from the beginning, this is a good place to start. In this class we learn the basic techniques to play the instruments and cover necessary manners for becoming a gamelan player. We will learn simple songs by ear and play them by memory.
If you already have some experience in gamelan whether you took a class at a college or used to perform with other performing groups, join this rehearsal group. We spend our rehearsal time on building a good performing team, working on details about the songs we already know, and learning new materials as a group.
